It promotes sports and its benefits to Native American communities, and celebrates Native people and culture.

Now in its third year at the University of Montana, the Nike N7 basketball games are a part of that recognition. The Montana Lady Griz basketball team will wear special turquoise jerseys for their game against Idaho State this Saturday afternoon, January 18. Other events are planned during the game to honor Indigenous Peoples.

And an amazing Native American ambassador, who carved out a legacy for the Montana Grizzly football team, is lending his motivational speaking talents to this weekend's festivities.

Levi Horn, a former Griz offensive lineman and National Football League player (Chicago Bears), will present a free motivational talk titled “Medicine Game,” also this Saturday, at 12:30 p.m. in the Adams Center West Auxiliary Gym. Levi will speak in the same venue again at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, February 1.

All are welcome. His appearance is sponsored by UM Admissions, the School of Public and Community Health Sciences, the Kyiyo Student Association and the Native American Center of Excellence.

In 2009, Levi was named Third Team All American Associated Press and The Sports Network, First Team All-American AFCA and received the University of Montana Paul Weskamp Award. As an enrolled member of the Northern Cheyenne tribe and Lame Deer resident, he attributes his work ethic to his mom Julia Horn, who raised three children on her own.

He has made his mark as a motivational speaker, where his workshops include "Drug and Alcohol Education,"  "Skills Athletes Use On and Off the Field," "Empowering Our Native Youth," "Indigenous Wellness Techniques" and more.

Levi Horn visits reservations to speak about the importance of having a dream. Griz football fans and others will definitely want to hear what he has to say.
