Voting Is Now Open to Name Missoula’s 3 Snow Plows
Just when you thought voting season was over, there is one more thing we need to vote for and I think most of us can get behind this. Missoulians have a chance to name three of the city's snow plows. Voting is now open.
Last month the city opened up submissions for name ideas and did they get a lot of them. Voting for the favorite names opened this past Tuesday. Voting will close on February 4, and the winning name will be announced by Mayor Davis during the Missoula City Council meeting on Monday, February 10.

The names are creative, full of puns, and funny, and I can't wait to see what the new plows will be named.
The city is asking for people to vote for their top three favorite names. There are name recommendations based on cartoon characters, musicians, fictional characters, and more. Of course one of the names has to have "Griz" in it somewhere.
I don't envy the city employees that had to narrow down the selections to the top twenty- that had to have been difficult. They received 388 name submissions in total. Knowing Missoula, I am sure they were all entertaining.
The current nameless snow plows have been hard at work already this winter and it looks like there is going to be more work on the way with snow in the forecast. How long the winter will last is anyone's guess.

I didn't want to list any of the names because I didn't want to show favoritism. You can see the full list and vote now at the Engage Missoula website. I voted for my favorites and now it's your turn.
